Which codes are in effect?

The State Building Code Council has adopted the editions of the codes, as shown below, with the noted amendments as required by State Law (RCW 19.27).

Where can I view/purchase these codes?

A variety of sources to purchase these codes are available online. They are also available for purchase directly through the Washington Association of Building Officials bookstore.

Also, many local libraries keep copies of current "standard codes" (though these may not include local amendments).

What about code amendments?

Washington State amendments can be downloaded for free at www.sbcc.wa.gov. State amendments are also available for purchase in hard copy through the WABO bookstore.

City of Sammamish amendments are currently available for free online. See Sammamish Municipal Code, Title 16 for adoption of the new codes and associated local amendments.
